Merit Retirement Advantage Premier

Year Prior to Retirement

About a year before your retirement date, a meeting with your Personal Financial Advisor will help ensure that we’ve accomplished what we originally planned – a successful retirement. We may decide that we need to tweak some of your withholdings or your goals, and this is the time to do it, while it may still make a difference.

Once a year, Merit Advantage Program Premier Members may consult experts in tax planning, estate planning, insurance, mortgage financing or job placement. As an added benefit, you may bring along a member of your family to discuss your future.

Approximately three months before your retirement date, your Personal Financial Advisor will schedule a conference call with you and your company’s HR department to begin the retirement process. During the call, we’ll confirm your retirement date, the necessary paperwork and anticipated benefits. This will give us time to work through any unexpected glitches so you can relax knowing your Financial Advisor is working for you.

When confronted with the mounds of paperwork needed to retire, it almost looks like it would be easier to stay with the company!  Merit Advantage Program experts ease the burden, handling most of the red-tape – we make sure that all the papers are filed correctly and on time so that you receive all the benefits you are due. You concentrate on planning your first few months of retirement while we make sure those retirement checks come in on time.

The Merit Advantage Program is with you for the long haul. Your Personal Financial Advisor will guide you through the retirement income options available to you. Our goal is to make sure that those checks keep on coming as long as you need them. After all, isn’t that what you’ve been working for all these years?

Membership in Merit Advantage Premier Program costs only pennies per day. Memberships start at $299/year and may be paid all at once or quarterly. Just let us know your preference when you sign up.
